Adam Paul Goerdt

April 20, 2016

Adam Paul Goerdt, 36, of Dubuque passed away Wednesday, April 20th, 2016 at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport, IA after a hard fought battle with addiction.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26th, 2016 at Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd. in Dubuque. An informal service and time for sharing will take place at 8:00 p.m.

Adam was born on March 7th, 1980 in Dubuque, IA the son of Herbert J. Goerdt Sr. and Paula V. (Perry) Goerdt.

He was preceded in death by his father and his Uncle Rick.

Those left to honor his memory are his boys; Colton Paul (Tara Bradley) and Charles Edward, along with his longtime love; Tamara Lyne. His mother; Paula, brother; Herb Jr. (Rosemary) Goerdt, sisters; Reva and Melissa, his treasured nieces and nephews; Herbie, Tavian, Ava, Avantraye, Amari, Samson, and Sayler, many aunts, uncles, and cousins, and his beloved dogs Zeus and Charlie.

Adam is loved tremendously. If he considered you a friend, that meant you were family. And family was everything to Adam. He had a huge heart and capacity for love that is unmatched. His joy was spending time with his boys; Colton and Charlie. They were the light of his life.

He enjoyed the outdoors and was certainly social. Adam loved to be on the river with his friends, at a bonfire or cookout, or just laid back taking in a game with his favorite sports teams, the Chicago Bears or Cubs.

The pain and struggle is over now. He can rest easy, but that huge smile, those bear hugs, your kind heart, and your love will be missed every minute of every day. Until we meet again, We Love You Fatty!

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Adam’s name.
