Anita (Musick) Moody, 69, of Dubuque, Iowa formerly of Duffau, TX passed away peacefully on June 21st, 2018 at her daughter's home where she has been greeted into Heaven by her lifelong partner in crime Mark Dunlap, her parents Finas and Georgia Musick, sister Joy Davis, her brother's Junior and Gene Musick and her cousin Linda Sue. Anita was born on June 18, 1949.
Anita was a self proclaimed Jack of all trades. She changed tires at her parents truck stop/café in Crossroads, NM. She was a roofer, grain truck driver, cotton field worker, janitor, short order cook, oilfield pumper, sewing factory seamstress, and owned her own arts and crafts store until realizing her dream and going back to school to get her GED and her cosmetology license. She then became a beauty instructor for over 20 years at Stephenville Beauty College. She loved quilting, the Dallas Cowboys and made the best hot cocoa.
She loved her children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter, Amara Hope.
Anita is survived by her children, Sherry (Lonnie) Oswald, of Dubuque, IA, Frank (Sara) Rust, Jr., of Beaverton, OR, Dusty (Virginia) Moody, of Stephenville, TX, and Janet (Trey) Dunlap-Perez, of Iredell, TX; and her sister, Kathy Mills, of Iredell, TX. Eleven Grandchildren, Paige (Zach) Rankin, Dakota Rust, Coved, Britt and Drake Oswald, James, Jaden and Jacob Moody, Katelyn, Katie and Kylie Perez.
Special thank you to Paramount Ambulance, Caring Coach and Marvin Ney for transporting Anita from Texas to Iowa in March so she could spend her final days with her daughter. Thank you to Mercy Home Medical Equipment, Mercy Home Health Nursing, Mercy Palliative Care and Hospice of Dubuque for making her comfortable in her final months.
Anita wished to be cremated and have a family graveside service at Mitchell Cemetery in Iredell, Texas on December 9, 2018 at 1 p.m.
