Beverly J. Maus

Beverly J. Maus, 84 of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on Monday, December 5th, 2016 at Dubuque Specialty Care.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 9th at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road with Rev. Dianne Grace officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 8th, 2016 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory.

Beverly was born on July 15, 1932 in Monroe, WI the daughter of Frances Wenzel.

She married James W. “Jiggs” Maus on July 17, 1954. She worked as head cook at Kresge’s Discount Store until closing, then for K-Mart until retirement.

Bev enjoyed many years bowling at Dubuque Lanes with all the bowling girls. She was a very crafty person and enjoyed making many personal gifts for her family. Her and Jiggs enjoyed many fun camping trips with their family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Kathy (Dan) Hefel, of East Dubuque, Mike Maus, of Illinois, Luann (Steve) Hurst, of Bellevue, Peggy (Mark) Bagstad, of Springfield, MO, Billy (Angie) Maus, of Peosta; son-in-law Brian Brown of Cedar Rapids; fifteen grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. Two sisters-in-law Deloras Bonnet and Evie Schweikert, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband James “Jiggs” Maus; her daughter Debbie Brown; her mother figure Margaret Kaster; in-laws Myra (Butch) Badger, Ralph Bonnet, Pearl and Al Demuth, Boutzy and George Ludovissy, Carl Maus, Bette Hoots and Bob Schweikert.

In lieu of flowers a Beverly J. Maus memorial fund will be established.

The family wishes to thank all the A-Wing girls at Dubuque Specialty Care, Hospice of Dubuque especially Edna, Nicole, Rev. Dianne, Ryan and Lisa for all their wonderful care and kindness they gave to Bev.
