Charles I. “Chuck” McDermott, 91, of Dubuque, Iowa formerly of Bernard passed away on March 23, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center.
Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 27th, 2017 at St. Raphael Cathedral with Msgr. Thomas Toale officiating. Family and friends may gather after 8:30 a.m. at the church until time of mass. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, with military honors by American Legion Post #6
Chuck was born on July 31, 1925 in Bernard, Iowa the son of Alberic & Mary (McDonald) McDermott. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
He married Irene Lyons on November 8, 1952 at St. Joseph Church, Key West.
He was a longtime Allis Chalmers Implement Dealer and owned and operated Tri State Implement for many years. His favorite pastime was tractor pulling and playing guitar
He is survived by his wife Irene (Lyons) McDermott, his children, sons Steven (Kathy) McDermott and Mark (Beth) McDermott. Two grandchildren Alexandria and Keith. Sisters Marge Sweeney and Patricia “Pat” Larkin and sister-in-law Dorothy McDermott.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Mabel Sweeney, Dorothy Murray, Bernice Faley; brothers Louis, Bernard, Emmett and Clem.
