Connie Walker age 64 died peacefully Saturday May 9, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family following a long battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory 2595 Rockdale Road with Deacon Jim Thill Officiating. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 pm Monday May 11, 2015 at the funeral home.
Connie was born on August 31, 1950 in Webster City, Iowa the daughter of Orville and Eleanorea (Norem) Jondal. She married Dennis Walker on December 28, 1968 in Webster City. Connie loved to take care of people and for many years she worked at Hills and Dales and Bethany Home as a CMA, and developed close friendships with her co-workers. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, bingo, garage sales and going to the pool. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed trips to Texas and dancing.
She is survived by her husband Dennis, four children Denny Jr. (Kelly) Walker, Crystal (Dewey Patterson) Walker, Michael (Steffany) Walker, and Tommy (Stacy) Walker, nine grandchildren Blake, Payton, Breann, Kylee, Devin, Conner, Alexis, and Aylah. A brother Michael (Pam) Jondal, two sisters Bonnie (Maynard) Nicholson, and Deb (Randy) Hilpipre and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter Trinity Rose, her father and mother in law Del and Elizabeth, and two sisters in law Kelly Clark and Cyndi Willis.
In lieu of flowers a Connie Walker memorial fund has been established.
The family would like to thank Dr. Eric Engleman and his staff and Hospice of Dubuque for all the loving care they gave to Connie.
