Darlene M. Weber, 92, of Dubuque, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Manor Care, surrounded by her loving family.
A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 17, 2016, at Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, Dubuque. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Darlene was born on April 27, 1924, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Clifford and Calista (Wolter) Noggle. She was a dedicated member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, the Catholic Daughters of America for several years and donated to many Veteran organizations. She loved her family more than anything and enjoyed spending time with them. She had a smile for everyone and made sure you felt like a friend from the moment she met you. Her standard greeting was “Hi Honey” whether she knew you or not. Darlene had a beautiful spirit and will be deeply missed.
She married Burdette “Jack” Weber on December 27, 1944 at Sacred Heart Church in Dubuque and was his loving wife for nearly 60 years. Even after all that time, he still referred to her as his bride.
She is survived by two sons, Kevin (Kathy) Weber and James Weber; her sisters Lorraine Shafer and Dolores Stillmunkes; her brother Dwayne “Butch” (Shirley) Noggle, and 4 grandchildren, Gabe Weber, Tina (Jason) Hartman, Kristopher Weber and Kara Weber and great grandsons, Jack and Logan Weber.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband Jack in 2002, her son Joseph Weber, her son Gerald (Jerry) Weber, her daughter in law Karen Weber and her granddaughter Fawn Weber.
Flowers are welcome for the service or donations may be made at the visitation.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque, especially Nichole and Betsy; Manor Care, and Dr. Ward and his staff for all of the wonderful care they gave to Darlene.
