Donald A. “Buzzy” Stroh 84 formerly of 2134 White Street passed away February 8, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque.
Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where family and friends may gather after 3:00 p.m. until time of service. Burial will be at Linwood Cemetery.
Buzzy was born on April 8, 1931 in Dubuque the son of Jacob and Irene (Rudd) Stroh.
He married Mary C. Willett and she preceded him in death.
He worked for the former Dubuque Packing Company for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed his almost daily visits to the Locust Street Hy-Vee for breakfast, some shopping, or just to visit. In his younger days he loved spending time on the river and fishing with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children Greg (Vanessa) Stroh, Brian (Betty) Stroh, Bob (Deb) Richardson, Tina (Gary) Tigges, Kim (Steve) McKinzie, Joe (Becky) Richardson, Pam McKeown, and Lisa Weinberg, 23 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and a brother-in-law Ray Gieseman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and a sister Delores Gieseman.
In lieu of flowers a Donald “Buzzy” Stroh memorial fund has been established.
A very special thank you to Lisa, Donald’s daughter, for all the loving care given to dad these last years.
