Donna M. Schroeder, 59, of Dubuque passed away at 3:25 a.m. Saturday, August 6th, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center, surrounded by her family to comfort her.
A casual gathering of family and friends will held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9th, 2016 at Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd. in Dubuque. An informal Celebration of Life and time for Sharing will take place at 6:00 p.m.
She was born on October 30, 1956 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of Clare Breithaupt.
She owned several horses, dogs and cats. She enjoyed going on trail-rides; and loved going on her boat with her family and dogs “Max” and “Jessie”. David named the boat "Baby Cakes" which was his nickname for Donna.
She is survived by her husband David of 43 years who loved to make his Baby Cakes laugh. Her children, Joshua Schroeder, Heather Schroeder and Jodi (Matthew) McCarron, all of Dubuque. Her precious grandsons, Micah and Bobby McCarron. Her mother Clare Breithaupt, of Dubuque and her sister Lisa Breithaupt of Cedar Falls. Her brothers-in-law Dennis Schroeder and Terry (Joanette) Lang of Dubuque. Her sister in laws Jackie (Thomas) Oliver of Cedar Rapids and Patricia (Glenn) Welp of East Dubuque, IL
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law John J. Schroeder and her mother-in-law, Roselma “Peggy” McGrath-Schroeder.
In lieu of flowers a Donna M. Schroeder memorial will be established.
