Eugene W. Webb, 83 of Dubuque, Iowa has gone on his final fishing trip on Thursday, December 11, 2014.
Friends may gather on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where services will be held at 1:00p.m. along with military detail accorded by American Legion Post #6.
Eugene was born on August 9, 1931 in Armstrong Springs, Arkansas the son of Mitchell and Flora (Zachies) Webb. He was raised in St. Louis and Nashville, IL and ended up in Omak, Washington. He is a US Navy Veteran serving in Korea. He moved to Dubuque, Iowa after serving in the Navy where he met his wife Lorraine Margan. They married on April 24, 1954, in Dubuque.
He worked at the Dubuque Packing Company, and also Tri State Tours.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather. His nieces, nephews, grandchildren and friends of his children enjoyed going boating on the river with him.
He is remembered for teaching kids to ski and even to dance the “two-step”.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine “Lovey”, of Dubuque, his children, Pamela Webb of Dubuque, Peggy (Rich) Burlingame, of Burlington, Iowa., Michael (Mary Kay) Webb, of Dubuque. His grandchildren, Matt Webb, Emily Webb, Kate Burlingame, and Nate Burlingame. His sisters Carolyn Godsoe, of Lynchberg, VA, and Kathy (Dave) Weak, of Boise, Idaho, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son David, a brother Mitchell Jr., and a sister Betty Fleishman.
Memorials may be given to be given to the Great River Klein Center in Burlington, Iowa.
The family wishes to thank Great River Hospice, and all nurses and staff of the Klein Center.
