Georgeanne Loes, 89 of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on Saturday, March 14th, 2015 at home.
Funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 21st, 2015 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road with Pastor Dwayne Tieg and Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Family and friends may gather after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home until time of services. Entombment will follow services in Mount Olivet Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum.
She was born on May 11, 1925 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of Peter and Frances (Carroll) Koeff. She married Melvin “Moon” Loes on February 18, 1946.
She was an avid golfer and a member of Lacoma Golf Club, she also enjoyed playing cards, but most of all she was a fun loving wife, mother and grandmother and was an amazing homemaker.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years Melvin “Moon” Loes, of Dubuque, three children Ken (Gwen) Loes, of Geneva, IL, Sue Manternach, of Cascade, Mona (Greg) Manternach, of Cascade. Twelve grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren. One sister Arlene Mentzer, of Dubuque.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister Mary Miller.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Bruce Abele and his nurse Maureen Kennedy, Eagle Point Place and their staff, and Hospice of Dubuque for all their wonderful care and kindness they gave.
