Hazel Sprague 97 of Luther Manor passed away on December 3, 2016 at Luther Manor.
Family will greet relatives and friends after 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10th, 2016 at Fraternal Order of Eagles, 1175 Century Drive. Burial will be at a later date. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road is assisting the family.
Hazel was born on June 7, 1919 the daughter of Henry and Grace (Hobart) Peterman.
She married Herbert Sprague on August 31, 1940 and together they celebrated 67 years of marriage.
Hazel and Herb owned Herb & Hazel’s Tavern in Edgewood, Iowa and later they owned H&H Trading Post near Manchester, Iowa. She was a charter member of Fraternal Order of Eagles in Manchester.
She is survived by her children, Phyllis Lee, Shirley (Don) Foley, both of Dubuque, Mary Jo (Dave) Pinkston, of Longmont, CO, and son-in-law, Lawrence Lee of Dubuque. Twelve grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Herb, a son Harold “Butch” Sprague, daughter-in-law Sandy along with eight brothers and one sister.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Luther Manor or Hospice of Dubuque.
