Helen M. Krepfle, age 97 of Dubuque, lA, passed away peacefully at 5:45 p.m., Wednesday May 27th, 2015 at Stonehill Care Center surrounded by her family.
To honor Helen's life, funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 30th at Grace Point Church, 3100 Windsor Ave., with Rev. Christopher B. English officiating. Family and friends may gather after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church until time of funeral service. Burial will follow in Dubuque Memorial Gardens. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road is assisting the family.
Helen was born on July 29, 1917, in Marathon County, WI, daughter of William and Hettie (Hornbeck) Olson. Helen married John Krepfle on June 23, 1937, in Dubuque. He preceded her in death on November 17, 1996.
Helen has been a resident of Stonehill Care Center since 2013. She was a member of Grace Point Church, the Y.F.W. #508 Auxiliary and Salvation Army Bingo.
Helen enjoyed outing with the "Red Hat Ladies" from Grace Point Church, playing bingo and trying her luck with the slot machines. She brought much joy in her 30 years of baking wedding cakes to the happiness of many couples.
Helen is survived by seven grandchildren, Tom (Beth) Duccini, Kathryn Duccini, Taylor Krepfle-Webb, Jordon Krepfle-Webb, Eric Krepfle, James Krepfle and Susan (Michael) Krans; three great grandchildren, Colten, Jacob and Alesha; her siblings, Kathleen Russel, South Wayne, WI, Ila Jean Billips, Dekalb, IL, Carol Martin, Gays Mills, WI, Bernard Olson, Woodburn, OR, Robert Olson, Cuba City, WI; her son-in-law, John Duccini, Dubuque, IA; her daughter-in-law, Sue Krepfle, Thonotosassa, FL.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; a daughter, Alice Duccini; three
sons, Douglas, Glen and John "Jack" Krepfle; a sister, Melvina Thorman; two brothers, Lyle and
Clarence.
A Helen M. Krepfle memorial fund has been established.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Dubuque for all their care. A very special thank you to Stonehill Care Center for all their care, kindness and friendship they gave Helen.
