Irma M. Hedrick, 97 of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on July 15, 2017 at Dubuque Specialty Care.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Immanuel Congregational, UCC Church, 1795 Jackson Street with Rev. Pamela Starr officiating. Family and friends may gather after 10:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road is assisting the family.
Irma was born on November 25, 1919 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of Benjamin and Elizabeth (Kumpf) Vyverberg. She married Roy Hedrick and he preceded her in death in 1989.
She worked at the former H.B. Glover Factory, along side her sister as an inspector. She also worked for the Dubuque Battery Factory and lastly worked at Hotel Julien in Dubuque.
She enjoyed going to garage sales, needle work, and traveling.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, Shirley Schroeder, Richard and Carole Vyverberg and Joan and Clare Snodgrass along with great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy, a son Roy Jr.; two brothers Fred and Milton; two sisters Dorothy and Helen, and many faithful companions, especially her dog Jamie who passed on June 22, 2017.
The family request no flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque or Immanuel Congregational Church.
