Janis M Lange

Janis M. Lange, 86 of Dubuque passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Manor Care.

There will be a funeral mass celebrating her life at 11:00a.m. on Wednesday, December 17th, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Rev. Steven Rosonke officiating. Entombment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Family and friends may gather after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church until time of mass. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road is assisting the family.

Janis was born on February 13, 1928, in Dubuque, daughter of Leo and Edna (Stevens)  Lang. She married Martin M. Lange on April 19, 1952 at Holy Trinity Church in Dubuque. She worked as a Lab Technician at Medical Associates in Dubuque retiring in 1986.

Janis was a Life Master in Duplicate Bridge and enjoyed travelling across Iowa playing in bridge tournaments. She also was a member of the National 600 Bowling Club.

Janis enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years Martin, her children Lori (Patrick)Joester and Cali (Brian) Beecher both of Dubuque. Three grand children Katie (Brian) Mitchell of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, Philip Beecher of Dubuque and Elizabeth (Seth) Hoerner also of Dubuque, and two great grandchildren Ben and Elise Mitchell.

Janis was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Donald Lang in 1943 while serving in WWII, a sister Delaine Dale and a sister Jean Moses formerly of Scottsdale, Arizona.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque and the staff at Manor Care for their gentle care and support.
