Jeffrey A. Steffen, 51 of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on June 24, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center.
Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, at St. Joseph The Worker with Rev. Gabriel Anderson officiating. Friends may call from to 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where there will be a wake service at 5:00 p.m. Private family burial will be at a later date in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Jeff was born on August 17, 1963, in Dubuque, Iowa the son of Kenneth and Nancy (Herting) Steffen.
He attended Dubuque Senior High School, and worked for Dubuque Stamp as a machinist.
Jeff was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved his animals especially his cats and bird. Most of all Jeff enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his three sons, Troy (Jennifer) Steffen, of Dubuque, Nick Steffen, of Iowa City, Iowa, Nate (fiance Jessica Potras) Steffen, of Dubuque. Three grandchildren, Shane & Adelyn Steffen and Raelyn Hendricks. His mother Nancy Steffen of Dubuque, his brother Ron (Susie) Steffen, of Cascade, and his nephew Alex Steffen.
He was preceded in death by his father, along with his maternal and paternal grandparents.
In lieu of flowers a Jeffrey Steffen memorial fund has been established.
The family wishes to thank Above and Beyond Hospice especially, Angie Lambert-Cox, Karla Manternach, and Jessie Mausser for all their wonderful care they gave to Jeff.
