John Bond Obituary

John E. Bond, 76, of Beetown, WI passed away June 23rd, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque after a long illness.

Family and friends may gather for a Celebration of Life service at 1 p.m. on Saturday June 30th at the Beetown Community Hall. Military Honors will be accorded at the Beetown Cemetery following the service. Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd. Dubuque, is assisting the family.

John was born November 5th, 1941 in Brownwood, Texas, the son of George and LeeNoah (Sawyer) Bond. On May 15, 1993, he married Barbara J. Wentz-Hines.

John served his country in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the American Legion. He loved fishing, playing with his grandchildren, watching television, and playing solitary on the computer.

John is survived by his wife Barbara; children Doug (Lisa) Bond, Danette Jackson, Tim Bond, and John A. Bond; stepdaughters Sheila Stelpflug, Rachel (Matt) Owens, and Sarah (Travis) Kirschbaum; siblings Kenneth Bond, Mary Swinney, and Bertha Rheil; Sisters-in-laws Donna Axe, and Lynda Wentz; Brother-in-law Ron (Sylvia) Wentz; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews

He is preceded in death by his parents; step-son David Hines; an infant brother George Waylon; an infant grandson John; brothers-in-law Edward Wentz, Joe Dell (Barbara) Bond, Raymond Sitts, and Mac Axe.
