Kathryn H. "Katie" Lincoln, 72 of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on December 13th, 2017 at Dubuque Specialty Care.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30a.m. Monday, December 18th, 2017 at St. Joseph Church Key West with Rev. Rodney Allers officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Chapel Mausoleum, at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 17th, 2017 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road with a wake service at 2:00 p.m.

Katie was born on September 19, 1945 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of Howard and Emily (Foust) Herron. Katie grew up in Zwingle on the family farm and the family later moved to Delhi when she was eleven. While living in Delhi, Katie met the love of her life David who she would later marry on October 10, 1964 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Dubuque. Together they shared 53 wonderful years.

After moving to Dubuque at the age of 15 she attended and graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and later worked along side David at the Walsh Stores as a bookkeeper, later at Walsh True Value, and finally at the Bait Shack until retirement.

Katie enjoyed many things including sunflowers, zinnias, humming birds, owls, and sitting in the boat reading a good book while David fished. They also enjoyed many long walks together. She always gave an infectious smile and a genuine heartfelt hug to all that she met.

Katie is survived by her husband of 53 years and their four children Gregory (Kristi) Lincoln, Aaron (Diane) Lincoln, Pamela (Brian Phillips) Lincoln, and Nancy (Patrick Brickel) Lincoln. 9 grandchildren Heather, Joscelyn, Hunter, Wylee, Howie, McKenna, Carly, David, and Tula; 2 great grandchildren Lucy and Lily. Sister Ann (Frank) McMahon and her brother Mark (Karen) Herron. Brother-in-Law Norman (Donna) Lincoln, and Sister-in-Law Marion Vogts; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter Hailey, and sister Louise.

In lieu of flowers a Katie Lincoln memorial fund will be established.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her friends Sharon and Linda, her sister-in-law Donna and Dubuque Specialty Care nurses and staff for their loving care and support.
