Kenneth E. Klinkner, 82, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away peacefully on May 17th, 2017 at Stonehill Care Center surrounded by his family.
Private family services and burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery with Rev. Dianne Grace officiating. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road is assisting the family.
Ken was born on November 2, 1934 in Temple Hill, Iowa the son of Charles and Mary (Grant) Klinkner. He married Margaret E. Coleman on May 14, 1955. He attended Loras Academy and was employed at the Dubuque Packing Company for 44 years. Ken enjoyed hunting and fishing with Brian and Sam; was an avid bowler and always enjoyed a good car ride.
He is survived by his wife Margaret “Marge”; daughters Lynn (John) Klostermann, Cindy (Jim) Riedl, Kari (Randy) Schueller, and son Brian (Tracy) Klinkner. Seven grandchildren, Nate (Aimee) Klostermann, Kati (Chris) Averkamp, A.J. (Nikki) Riedl, C.J. Riedl, Allison Schueller, Linzi Schueller, and Sam Klinkner. Six great grandchildren, Emma Klostermann, Ava, Evalie and Jase Riedl and Ella and Nora Averkamp. His brother Herman (Shirley) Klinkner, two sisters Jean Waterman, and Trish Robison.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his half brother Gary.
The family wishes to thank Stonehill Care Center and the wonderful staff at hospice of Dubuque especially Allison for her extra loving care.
