Kent David Frommelt, 65, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, June 27th, 2017 at home.
Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1st, 2017 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with Rev. Gabriel Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, New Melleray. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 30th, 2017 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where a wake service will be at 6:45 p.m.
Kent was born on November 19, 1951 in Dubuque, Iowa the son of Eugene and Charlene (Blum) Frommelt. He married Sharon Steffen on November 10, 1973 at St. Joseph the Worker in Dubuque.
He worked at Bird Chevrolet in Dubuque for 47 years. He enjoyed sitting on the picnic table in the back yard with friends and family. Kent Enjoyed working on cars, always loved VW’s especially his VW bus.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Sharon; daughter Robin Uzel; son David (Ashley) Frommelt; grandchildren, Zachary and Christopher Uzel and Maddie and Mason Frommelt. His siblings, Kay Waller, Mark (Gert) Frommelt, Kris McKinze, Wendy Renne, and Gene Frommelt. His father-in-law Jerome Steffen Sr.; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Kay Oberhoffer, Jerome (Marge) Steffen, Jr., Charles (Nancy) Steffen and Nancy (Mike) Felton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Craig Frommelt; brothers-in-law Don Waller and Mike Oberhoffer and mother-in-law Lorraine Steffen.
In lieu of flowers a Kent David Frommelt memorial fund will be established.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Hermann and Tony Heiar at Dubuque Internal Medicine and their nursing staff, especially Sandy for all their wonderful care.
