Lana Kaye LuGrain, 69, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on July 6, 2016 at home.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2016 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road with Deacon Jim Thill officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 10th, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory.
She was born on July 11, 1947 in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Howard and Matilda (Besler) McElmeel. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School, and worked for 19 years in the clerical department at Medical Associates in Dubuque
She married Steven LuGrain on July 3, 1986, and in 1999 they opened and operated Lana’s P.J.’s Tap in Dubuque. Lana enjoyed spending time boating on the river, her pet bird “Harley”, but mostly spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband Steve, two children; Amy (Jeff) Pfeiler, of Dubuque, and Corey (Jenny) LuGrain, of Dubuque. Six grandchildren; Olivia, Ella, Grace, Addison, Nicholas, and Jack. Siblings, Joan (Tom) Felderman, of Peosta, Linda Kuhn, of Melbourne, Florida, Dan McElmeel, of California, and Sharon (Craig Smith) Braem of Dubuque; sister-in-law, Mary Kay, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-law Carl and Joan LuGrain, her siblings, Bob (Judy) McElmeel, Tom McElmeel, Diane Correll, and Mike McElmeel and a brother-in-law Jim Kuhn.
In lieu of flowers a Lana LuGrain memorial fund will be established.
