Lois C. Green, 90 0f Oak Park Place and formerly of rural Dubuque died Saturday January 24, 2015
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Key West, with Fr. Michael Podhajsky officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Key West. Friends may call from 3 to 8 Wednesday January 28, 2015 at The Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory 2595 Rockdale Road where there will be a parish Vigil service at 3 pm
Lois was born on April 2, 1924 in Durango, Iowa the daughter of Sylvester and Celestine (Jungers) Reuter. She married Arnold Green on January 29, 1947 at Saint Joseph Key West Church and shared 66 wonderful years together until Arnolds passing on July 13, 2013.
Lois was a member of Dubuque County Farm Bureau Women’s Groupand was voted mother of the year in 1980. She enjoyed raising chickens and delivering egg’s to her many egg customers over the years. She was a member of Saint Joseph Church, Key West.
She is survived by her eight children, Melvin (Barb) Green, Edward Green, JoAnn Heber, Clifford (Pat) Green, Barbara Barth, Joseph (Michelle) Green, Karen (Joe) Meier, and Mary (Kevin) Love. Nineteen grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, her brother Ken (Lois) Reuter, sister-in-law Betty Reuter, brothers and sisters-in-law John “Bob” (Marcella) Green, Charlie (Mary) Green, and Robert Offerman. Many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Arnold in 2013, son-in-law Loren Heber in 2014, brothers Clem Reuter, Cpl. Harlan Reuter, Jack Reuter, and Jim (Darlene) Reuter. Brothers and sisters-in-law Roland “Ted” (Mildred) Green, Virginia (Vince) Kremer, Loras Green, Joseph Green, Oscar (Berneice) Green, Claude (Shirley) Green, Frank (Estelle) Simon, Mary Jo Offerman, and her nephew Eugene Reuter.
The family wishes to thank the nursing staff at Oak Park Place, Mercy Medical Center and Hospice of Dubuque for all their wonderful care and kindness.
