Marcella M. “Sally” Trowbridge, 89, of Pinard Street in Dubuque, Iowa passed away on Monday, February 13th, 2017.
Service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 18th, 2017 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where family and friends may visit after 9:00 AM until time of service. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.
Sally was born on October 31, 1927, in La Motte, Iowa, the daughter of William and Louise (Slesch) Schroeder. She married Kenneth H. Trowbridge of Dubuque on January 22, 1947.
She worked independently for many years in residential cleaning and housekeeping.
Sally was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and baking; but nothing brought her greater joy than her family. Aside from being a wonderful wife to Kenneth for 65 years, she was a loving mother and a magical grandmother. Sally touched so many lives with her sweetness, kindness and generosity. To those who were close to her, she was considered a perfect person with a heart that loved unconditionally. She was selfless and always put her loved ones above herself, making sure to bring happiness in any situation. There was no place better than “Grammy’s” house.
She is survived by her three sons, Don Hayes, William (Judith) Trowbridge and Larry (JoAnne) Trowbridge. Ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; a sister Wilma Schuller, of Dubuque; brother Willis Schroeder, of Farley, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Kenneth; a sister Lenora Felderman; and four brothers, Leslie, Eldon, Melvin and Milo.
