Marilyn L. Kapparos, 71 of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Unity Point Health, Finley Hospital.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2015 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory with Sr. Margaret Anne Kramer, PBVM officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21st at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road.
She was born in Dubuque, Iowa on April 10, 1944 the daughter of Charles and Lucille (Link) Pfeiffer. She graduated from beauty college and owned and operated the Blue Villa Beauty Salon in Key West, Iowa.
She enjoyed camping, and her many trips south. She was a member of the Tri State Travelers Camping Club where she served as treasurer.
She is survived by her companion for 23 years Leslie Toth, three sons, Richard Kapparos Jr., Dean (Jessy) Kapparos, and Troy (Jane) Kapparos, all of Dubuque. Eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild, nieces, nephews and a brother Charles “Butch” (Peachie) Pfeiffer, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dick Kapparos and her parents.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established.
The family would like to thank the 5th floor nurses and staff at Finley Hospital, especially Betsi, Travis, Helen, and Leah for all their wonderful care they gave to Marilyn.
