Mary Lou Schreiber, 84, of Dubuque passed away Friday, July 1st, 2016 at Bethany Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6th, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Dubuque with Rev. Steven Rosonke officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5th, 2016 at Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd. where a parish wake service will be held at 4:00 p.m.

 

Mary Lou was born on September 2nd, 1931 in Bellevue, IA the daughter of Christopher and Mabel (Eggers) Keil. She worked for A.Y. McDonald, Betty Jane Candies. Mary Lou was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for 25 years and was a very active member of Saint Anthony’s parish where she served as a greeter and as a Eucharistic minister.

 

Mary Lou loved traveling, gardening, bowling, sewing and was a great cook. She loved spending time with her family and friends and she will be deeply missed.

 

She is survived by her four children, Julie (Ed) Vyverberg, of Dubuque, Greg (Brenda) Schreiber of Orlando, FL, Kathy (Hans Rindt) Schreiber, of Columbia, MO, and Paul (Donna) Schreiber of Austin, TX; three grandchildren, Emily Vyverberg and Matthew and Nicholas Schreiber; and a sister, Verna Keil of Bellevue.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles; and a brother Robert Keil.

 

The family wishes to thank the Nurses and Staff at Bethany Home, Dr. Brian Moran, and Hospice of Dubuque for all of the wonderful care they gave to Mary Lou.
