Nancy Marie Kramer

Nancy Marie Kramer, 77, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on July 27th, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 3rd, 2017 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road with Deacon John Stierman officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of service. 

Nancy was born at home, on the family farm, on June 5th, 1940 in Fowler, MI the elder daughter of Clayton and Wilma (Salisbury) Wright.  Farming, water well drilling, and a variety of maintenance services sustained the family.

Nancy grew up and attended school in Maple Rapids, MI and in 1958 graduated from Fulton Middleton High School. Following graduation, with an interest in business and accounting, she lived and worked in the Lansing, Michigan area, until marrying in 1959.  Throughout her life Nancy continued to work in accounting and bookkeeping, most recently at Zephyr Aluminum Products Inc. and OneStop Tax Service.  She formally retired in April of 2017.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, Nancy found great joy in gardening, sewing, designing and constructing quilts, and playing cards.  Most often found with her hands busy at a task and never one to sit for long, her natural energy and focus was translated into everything she did.

Nancy is survived by her daughter Kim (David) Murdock-Timmerman with grandchildren Scott (Laura) Timmerman and Sara (Aaron) Kellogg and great-grandson Matthew.

Survivors also include her husband James Kramer of 27 years with Steven (Jessica) Kramer, Brenda (Gary) Rolwes, Gary (Kelly) Kramer, Paul, (Kimberly) Kramer, and Carolyn (Joey) Grubbs along with 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Her sister June (David) Marston survives with niece Jennifer and nephew Nathaniel. Nancy is also survived by her former husband Stacey (Nancy) Murdock and family.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter Karen Murdock.
