Nancy Lee Reeg, 54, of Dubuque passed away on Saturday June 15, 2013 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN after a courageous battle surrounded by her family.
Services will be at 10:30a.m. Wednesday June 19, 2013 at St. Joseph Church, Key West with Rev. Michael Podhajsky officiating. Friends may call from 3:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Tuesday June 18th at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd where there will be a wake service at 3:00p.m. Friends may also call after 9:00a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home until time of funeral mass.
She was born on March 20, 1959 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of Earl and Janice (Manahl) Hantelmann. She married Danny Reeg on June 1, 1984 in Dubuque and worked at US Bank for 34 years.
Nancy enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing and doing crafts. She and Danny did everything together, seldom did you see one with out the other. She especially loved getting together for Reeg family euchre tournaments which were filled with lots of love, laughter and good food.
Danny and Nancy enjoyed spending time with friends singing karaoke especially their favorite song, “Let Me Be There”. While working at the bank, she thoroughly enjoyed her co-workers who were like a second family to her.
She is survived by her husband Danny, siblings; Karen (Mark) Bussan, Lisa (Jim) Smith, Doug Hantelmann, Kevin (Sue Behnke) Hantelmann, Gary (Amy) Hantelmann, all of Dubuque, Steve (Sally) Hantelmann of Maquoketa, Sue (Pat) Piatt of Coon Rapids, MN, and Ken (Sue) Hantelmann of Georgetown, Texas. Her in-laws Edwin and Dorothy Reeg, Shirley and Gary Deppe, Ron and Denise Reeg, Terry and Sue Reeg, Rick and Emily Reeg, Amy and Rick Livermore, and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Linda Lyons.
Danny would like to thank his family and friends for all of the support throughout the last several years and especially the last 6 months making it possible for him to be by her side.
