Paul Obi Okeke

Paul Obi Okeke, native of New City, New York and resident of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on May 10th, 2017 at the age of 22. 

Paul was born on February 16, 1995 in White Plains, New York. He is the son of Angelus and Lisa (Steffen) Okeke. A student at Loras College, he had dreams of becoming a teacher and was working at Young-Uns Day Care, where he was adored and loved by everyone.

Paul had an amazing smile that lit up a room. HIs quirky little laugh and giggle had the capacity to infect others with laughter and joy. Whether you were his best friend or a stranger, he treated everyone with an innate warmth and charm that can only be described special. He also spoke very proudly of his siblings and their achievements, as he lived vicariously through their endeavors. Paul was an amazing person, a fiercely loyal friend, and will be dearly missed by all those who had the privilege to meet him. 

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19th, 2017 at Christ The King Chapel at Loras College. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. with Fr. Dennis Miller officiating. 

He is survived by his parents Angelus and Lisa Okeke of New York; siblings Laurence, Edward and Mary;  grandparents Loras and Mary Ann Steffen, and Mary Okeke; aunts Laura, Beatrice, Antonia, Veronica, Ann, Nkechi, and Uche; and uncle Fred; along with numerous cousins in Nigeria. 

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Edward Okeke.
