Peter S. Finger, 65, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on February 25, 2019 at home.
Per his wishes, there will be no visitation other than a memorial service on February 28th at 11 a.m. at Hope Church in Dubuque.
Peter was born on December 20th, 1953 in Dubuque, the only son of Peter and Clara Finger. After graduating from Dubuque Senior High School Class of 1970, Peter worked primarily in the music industry over the next 30 years of his life, traveling all over the United States and performing with and providing sound and lighting engineering services for a wide variety of musical acts, including the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra and George Rondinelli Music. In recent years, Peter employed his many and varied talents at Hope Church as their sound/production engineer.
His interests included carpentry, automotive care, and an avid fascination with all manner of live entertainment, Star Trek and big, loud action movies that damaged the hearing of all around him.
Peter is survived by his wife Patrice, his three daughters Tressa Steinbach, Caitlyn Lee and Chelsee Henry, his stepchildren Joshua (Abby) and Carlee Moore, and many grandchildren.
Peter was proceeded in passing by his parents Peter, Clara and half-sister Cheryl.
The family wishes to thank the personnel of the Dubuque Police and Fire Departments for their prompt attention and efforts, in particular Pastor Nelson Jenkins, Dubuque Police Chaplain Charles Tharp and Dubuque County Medical Examiner Jim Abitz for their kindness.
“He’s dead, Jim.” –UFP Starfleet Lt. Cmdr. Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy, ship’s surgeon, USS Enterprise (at the risk of poor taste, Pete would’ve LOVED this.)
