R. Carlos Foust, 84, of Zwingle, Iowa passed away on June 21, 2015 at home.
Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 26th at St. Lawrence Church, Otter Creek, with Rev. Donald Hertges officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where there will be a wake service at 3:00 p.m. and a K.C. Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
He was born on December 23, 1930 in Dubuque, Iowa the son of Rudolph J. and Henrietta (Pancratz) Foust. He attended Buncombe School in Buncombe, Iowa.
He married Mary Alvena Wolf on September 9, 1952 at St. Clements’s Church in Bankston, Iowa.
Carlos was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus LaMotte/Key West 4236, Farm Bureau, and was a Super Crost Seed Representative.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Mary Alvena, seven sons, Timothy C. (Barb) Foust, Bellevue, Iowa, Steven F. (Mary) Foust, of Otter Creek, Christopher A. (Sharon) Foust, of Dubuque, Joseph J. (Josephine) Foust, Las Vegas, NV, Matthew P. (Laura) Foust, of Bernard, Vernon P. Foust, of Bernard, and Brendan J. (Kari) Foust, of Rochester, MN. Three daughters, Karen L. (Allan) Till, of Maquoketa, Carla M. (Robert) Reuter, of Peosta, Gloria J. (John) Federspiel, of Bernard. Thirty one grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. His brother Eugene Foust, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Emily (Howard) Herron, Janet (Aloysius) Kemp, Joan (Leo) Arensdorf, three brothers, Martin Foust, John Fred (Florence) (Gen) Foust, Quinten (Jean) Foust. Sister-in-law Gerri Foust, and brothers-in-law.
