Robert J. Keller passed away peacefully on August 20, 2017 at the age of 83.
Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at St. Raphael Cathedral with Rev. Alan Dietzenbach officiating. Family and friends may gather after 9:00 a.m. at the church until time of mass. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery with military honors accorded by American Legion Post #6. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, Dubuque, Iowa is assisting the family.
He was the son of Elizabeth and Raymond Keller. He spent four years in the United States Air Force. Following the Air Force, he spent 33 years as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was also the president of the Dubuque Postal Employees Credit Union for 32 years.
Robert married LaVonne “Bonnie” Hoppman on June 24, 1961. They had two daughters, Denise Marie (John) Middleman and Susan Lynn Keller.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, LaVonne who passed away on October 28, 2013 after 52 years of marriage and his sister, Shirley Wagner.
