Ronald W. Schmitz

 Ronald W. Schmitz, Age 74, 600 National Street, Dubuque, Iowa. On the evening of January 13th, Ron passed away peacefully at Stonehill Care Center. He was comforted by his family at the time of his passing. Per Ron’s wishes, a private family memorial will take place. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road is assisting the family.

Ron was born in Dubuque, Iowa on December 23rd, 1942 to parents, Hank and Eileen Robins- Schmitz. Ron graduated from East Dubuque High school.

Former employee at Prairie Farms, since retirement. Prior to Ron’s stroke, he was an avid fisherman and outdoorsmen, who loved his dogs. In his spare time, Ron enjoyed doing his stain glass. Those that knew him would say, he was the greatest storyteller of all time.

Ron was preceded in death by: Parents, Hank and Eileen, as well as his Brother, Richard Schmitz.

Ron is survived by his two Sons, Todd and Lynn and their Mother, Sandy Schmitz; his Sister, Sue Wichmann; grandchildren, Lauren Schmitz (Jaeger), Shelbi Schmitz and Mitchell Schmitz, along with 3 Great Grandchildren. We love you and will miss you, always.
