April 27, 2017

Terrence “Terry”  Nadermann, 63, of Dubuque, entered into God's eternal kingdom on April 27th, 2017 at 2:35 p.m. He was hospitalized at Mercy Medical Center briefly before passing suddenly due to complications from an infection.

Terry was born to Elmer and Juanita (Apel) Nadermann on March 17, 1954 in Dubuque. He was raised with 4 siblings in Dubuque where he attended and graduated from Senior High School in 1972.

He married his wife Brenda (Hevey) on August 25, 1973, and shared almost 44 years of marriage with her. During which he worked as a foreman at the City of Dubuque for 42 years before retiring in March 2016. They raised a daughter, Leigh (Steve Fara) together and enjoyed many joys in life as a family.

Terry was a man who loved to make others smile. He was a joker with a truly generous heart and a laugh that was contageous. He loved taking his Harley for rides, spending time with great friends and family, golfing, and taking his dogs for daily rides and walks. His true happiness came in spending time with his grandchildren, Logan and Skylar.

He leaves behind his wife, Brenda; daughter Leigh (Steve) Fara, and grandchildren Logan and Skylar Fara. He is also survived by his brothers, Tim (Liz) Nadermann, and Jack (Laura) Nadermann; his sisters Deb (Fred) Smith and Nancy (Don) Byrd; sisters-in-law Jane (Ken) McClean, Gail (Scott) Westerman, and Anita Cullen; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and wonderful friends who will all cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Juanita (Apel) Nadermann.

A special thank you goes out to the firemen and paramedics who came to his aid in time of need, Dr. Gordon and ICU nurse Annie, all the staff at the Mercy emergency room and ICU, and the friends and family who have shown such love and support during this hard time.

Gathering of family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday May 3rd, 2017 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where a prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m.
