Luke Callan Obituary

Luke R. Callan, 33, of Kieler, died Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at UnityPoint Health - Meriter Hospital, Madison WI

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 24th, 2024, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. A prayer service will be held at 4:30 p.m. with Deacon John Stierman officiating.

Luke was born on February 16, 1991 at Southwest Health Center in Platteville WI. He graduated from Southwestern High School in 2009. He worked for several years at Opening  Specialist.

As a child he loved the power rangers, swimming and skateboarding. He enjoyed all sports including football, basketball, bowling and track. He holds records statewide in the long jump, triple jump and high jump. He loved playing his guitar, and cooking for everyone. He was known as the seasoning King. He was very intelligent and knew all there was whether it was electronics or vehicles. He was a jack of all trades.

His favorite past time was spending time with his puppy Jaxson, his family and friends. His personality made him the life of the party as he added humor to every conversation and knew how to make each and every person feel lucky to have him as their friend.

He is survived by his mother Mary Jo Loomis of Kieler, his sister Shannon (Aaron) Soenksen of Dewitt Iowa and their 3 children Aria, Lily, and Meyer, his brother Travis (Melissa) Loomis of Cuba City Wi and their 2 children Madison and Tanner. His brother Tony Callan of Kieler WI and a sister Niki Callan of Dubuque Iowa and her 2 children Camdyn Callan and Rysley Vondal. His Father Matthew Callan of Holy Cross Iowa and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and FRIENDS (To many to mention).

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Erwin & Martina Streif, Tom & Beverly Loomis and Gene & Judy Callan.

In Lieu of flowers, a Luke R. Callan memorial Fund has been established. Donations may be sent to Mary Jo Loomis P.O. Box 178 Kieler, WI.

The family would like to Thank Southwest Health Center and Unity Point health Meriter Hospital, Madison WI and their staff for all of their care. Also, to Luke’s friends for all their support.

His favorite movie was Free Willy growing up and now he is  “Free” and voted as “The Favorite”
