Terry Frank

Terry Frank, 87, of Dubuque, IA, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2024 at home surrounded by his family.

Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road.  A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Dianne Grace officiating.  A private family burial will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery.  A continued Celebration of Life will be held at the Dubuque Moose Lodge #355, 2635 Windsor Avenue, following the funeral service.  The family invites everyone to wear their favorite sports apparel as Terry was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Dallas Cowboy fan. 

Terry was born March 11, 1937, in Osceola, IA., the son of Ross and Ina (Miller) Frank.  On December 1, 2006 he married the love of his life, Karen Meyer. 

Terry received his diploma from Des Moines Technical High School before going on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Drake University.  After graduation, Terry went on to work in insurance, mostly for Pekin Insurance as an adjuster, field representative, field manager and as the Regional Sales Manager before retiring in March of 2000.

Terry was a member of the Dubuque Moose Lodge #355 and the Dubuque Eagles Club.  He enjoyed playing golf, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, Dallas Cowboys and Jeff Gordon when watching Nascar races.  Terry and Karen enjoyed going on cruises and travelling to many places like Florida, Nashville and Arizona.  They enjoyed Arizona so much, they purchased a house there and were snowbirds for 14 years.  Terry loved spending time with his grandkids whether it was attending one of the many sporting or dance events or playing a serious game of Rack-o or Go Fish at the house.  He loved to read, do puzzles (especially Sudoku) and play Solitaire.  He could also often be found on the back porch enjoying a CC and water.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karen, of Dubuque; his children, Neil (Howard), Jodi Legband (Scotty), Mike (Kim); Karen’s daughter’s, Dawn (Jim) Leach, Kelly (Mike) Greenleaf and Stacy (Jeff) Kennedy; 10 grandchildren, Heather (Dan), Zachery (Julianna), Adam (Holly), Cory, Cody, Kaci (Stephen), Megan, Luke (Sadie), Maci and Karli; 8 great grandchildren, Braxton, Jaxson, Kaylee, Kyle, Asher, Walker, Dakotah and Capri; and special friends Marty, Julie, Matt (Kylie) and Joe.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter Brianna Leach in 2020.
