Alan Lee Schuster

Alan Lee Schuster, 63, of Peosta, Iowa passed away on June 29th, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center.

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 3rd, 2018 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Rev. Steven Rosonke officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 2nd, 2018 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where a wake service will be at 3:00 p.m.

Alan was born on December 7th, 1954 in Dubuque, Iowa the son of Lorain and Lorraine (Ryan) Schuster. He married Linda Grothe on August 10th, 1974 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church.

Alan started his career at 1st National Bank, continued with DuTrac for 30 years, then started EverGreen Construction as a family business. He was a member of Noon Optimist and Junior Achievement.

He enjoyed woodworking, camping with his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Linda; three sons, Jason (Jamie) Schuster, of Peosta, Brian (Anna) Schuster, of Dubuque, and Kevin (Aida Merdonovic) Schuster, of Peosta. Four grandchildren, Valarie, Carmen, Audrey, and Garrett; and his mother-in-law Rose Grothe..

Alan was preceded in death by his parents Lorain “Ray” and Lorraine along with his father-in-law William “Bill” Grothe.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established.

The family wishes to thank Mercy Medical Center especially the ICU Doctors, nursing staff and Palliative Care Professionals for the care they gave Alan.
