Barbara Koeller Obituary

Barbara Jean Koeller, 77, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on October 8th, 2018 at home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 10th, 2018 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where family and friends may visit after 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Private family burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery.

Barb was born on December 22, 1940 in Platteville, WI the daughter of Carl Henry and Gertrude (Brugger) Leyh. She graduated from High School in Platteville, WI and then started Beauty School. On February 12, 1960 she married David Leo Koeller at English Lutheran Church in Platteville.

Barb worked for Hills and Dales, Visiting Nurses, DHS, Headstart and Baymont Hotel. She enjoyed volunteering with Up With Families and was a board member for Foster Grandparent.

She is survived by her husband David; children, Heidi (Rick) Balk, Kevin (Margaret) Koeller, Tonya (Todd) Randal and Heather (Gene Herrig) Koeller. Fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Wilbert and a sister Gladys Stanton.

The family wishes to thank Mercy Medical Center doctors, nurses and staff; University of Iowa doctors, nurses and staff; and to Hospice of Dubuque for all their wonderful care and compassion.
