Betty Mullady Obituary

Betty Ann Mullady, 84, of Dubuque, IA passed away peacefully at home on May 23rd, 2018 at 11:11pm.

Family and friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 1st, 2018 at Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Rd. Dubuque, IA where a memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

She was born on August 13th, 1933 in Silvia Switch, IA to John Beauchamp and Gertrude Johnson, and graduated from St. Raphael’s Cathedral. She married Bernard “Bernie” Mullady in June 1956. She worked many fulfilling jobs throughout her life, most notably at St. Dominic Villa until her retirement in 2000.

Her life was filled with many pleasures, including: spending time at her cottage at Leisure Lake, IA; working in her garden; singing and dancing to Johnny Cash and Elvis (really, anything with a beat); and of course, laughing and telling stories at many family gatherings with Pepsi in hand.

She is survived by her son, William “Bill” Mullady, and her daughter Barbara A. Mullady; her grandchildren Bernard T. Mullady (Katie Mcardle), and Alanna Mullady (Josh Boyer) of Chicago, IL, Joshua Mullady (Victoria Harris) of Omaha, NE, and Kaylyn “Katie” Mullady (Justin Paisley) of Dubuque; her great grandchildren who she adored, Sterling Mullady, Cody “C.J.” Springer Jr, Xzayvior Paisley, and Annabella Paisley. She is also survived by a sister, Mary Mullen, her best friends Dorothy Kobs and Bev Tippe, plus many nieces and nephews whom she loved.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bernie Mullady; daughter Betsy Mullady; siblings Leonard, Pauline, William “Beans”, Eldon, Theresa, and John; in-laws Jim and Pat Mullady, and Sis and Bud Laufenberg.

Special thank you to Hospice of Dubuque for their support and care of Betty in her last weeks, with a special thanks to Peggy who spoiled her and Tracy her caring nurse.
