David H. Lorenz, 70, of Mission Texas, formally of Dubuque, Iowa died March 22, 2017 at Alfredo Gonzales Texas State Veterans Home.
Visitation will be held at Linwood Cemetery chapel from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Military honors by the Dubuque Marine Corps League will be held at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road is assisting the family.
David was born September 23,1946 in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Harry and Rosemary. He married Nancy Goin on June 27, 1998. He proudly served in the US Marine Corps in Vietnam. David was employed by Adams Pet Hospital as a pet groomer. He was a member of the American Legion and Tri-State Vietnam Veterans Association.
David enjoyed reading, camping, walking "buddie", and sitting on the porch visiting with friends. His sense of humor was with him to the end. He is so greatly missed.
Surviving are his wife Nancy, step-daughter Brenda Henkel, 2 brothers, Carl (Cindy) and James (Kyle); 1 niece and 3 nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Sandra and Mary, and brother Michael.
The family request no flowers, a David Lorenz memorial fund will be established in care of his wife Nancy.
