Debra A. Mootz

Debra A. “Debbie” Mootz, 55, of St. Catherine Road in Bellevue passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Unity Point Health, Finley Hospital following an illness.

No public visitation will be held. A memorial service will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at a later date. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, Dubuque, Iowa is assisting the family.

Debbie was born on December 25, 1962 in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of Cletus and Shirley (Schmitt) Mootz. Shirley died in 1964 and Cletus later married, Margaret Klein, in 1966. Cletus died in 1991.

Debbie enjoyed working on the Klein family farm, gardening, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Jamie) Kruser; two grandchildren, Cody and Riley Kruser; her brother, Cletus Mootz; her sister, Karen (Will Tauke) Mootz; Margie Mootz; Donald Stecklein; aunts and uncles, Margaret and David Ehlers, Tim and Joanne Mauer, John Klein, Donna Klein, Marie Boleyn and many Cousins. 

Preceded in death by her parents; grandparents: Delbert and Mary (Riley) Mootz Brittingham, and Anthony and Frances (Arensdorf) Klein. Her aunt and uncle Merlyn and Ginny Knabel; uncles: Theodore Klein, Robert Klein, Richard Klein, Donald Klein, James Klein, Roger Boleyn.

The family wishes to thank the nurses, staff and doctors of Unity Point Health, Finley Hospital for all the care they gave Debbie.
