Don was born December 2, 1934, the second oldest of 14 children in Galena, Ill., to Paul and Mary (Berger) Wubben.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1957 and was stationed in Korea.

He married Marilyn Hoff on July 9, 1960 at St. Joseph Church in Bellevue, IA.

Don retired from John Deere Dubuque Works in 1992 after 31 years of service. After his retirement he enjoyed helping people with home improvement projects.

Don was an avid Cub’s fan and enjoyed passing the time with daily Suduko puzzles and a hobby of electronics.

Most importantly he loved spending time with his family, playing with grandchildren, and socializing with friends over coffee. He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh and smile.

In his lifetime he can say he has seen the Cubs win the World Series and a U.S. President named Donald.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, three daughters Cheryl (Scott) Zimanek, Carla Collins, Denise (Grant) Stejskal; five grandchildren Stephanie, Christopher, and Lindsey Zimanek, Dana Collins, and David Stejskal; great grandchild Mason Lenninger; Siblings Darlene Scharpf, Ralph (Darlene) Wubben, Marian (Ardell) Hoff, Leota McQuaid, Elaine Semrow, Rosella Hying, Agnes (Larry) Ter Maat, John Wubben, Joseph (Kris) Wubben, and Joann (Phil) Winn, sisters-in-law Lois Wubben, and Phyllis Borcherding, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Mary (Berger) Wubben; siblings Ray Wubben, James Wubben and Eileen Jaeger; brothers-in-law Bill Scharpf, Ron Hying, Dale Semrow and Merlin Borcherding, nephews Michael McQuaid, and Frankie Robinson.

In lieu of flowers a Donald H. Wubben Memorial Fund has been established.
