Funeral services will be at 10:30a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road with Rev. Pamela Starr officiating. Burial will follow at Dubuque Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Donnabelle was born on Sept. 15, 1936 in Dubuque, the daughter of Herbert and Benita (Seger) Douglas. She married Robert J. Kramer on June 20, 1958 at Immanuel Congregational UCC Church. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and worked at Dubuque John Deere before her marriage. She later worked at Montgomery Ward and as a secretary at the University of Dubuque while raising her seven children. She was an active member of Immanuel Congregational UCC Church, teaching Sunday school and other volunteer roles to help out wherever she was needed.

In her younger years, she loved to go roller skating and later in life enjoyed dancing with Bob and camping with her family and friends. She loved baking and using her artistic skills for painting, scrapbooking and making cards for family and friends. Family lore has it that she had a keen eye and could hit a bottle cap hanging from a tree with her .22 Winchester. Her family was very important to her and she especially loved attending her grandchildren’s many school and sports events.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 60 years, Robert, her seven children, Jolee (Kevin) Arensdorf of Montrose, CO, Robin (Ron) Bauerly of Macomb, IL, Paula (Roger Welsh) Kramer of Dubuque, (“baby”) Lynne Kramer of Dubuque, Tracy (Jeff) Gallery of Stilwell, KS, Robert R (Lisa) Kramer of Mantorville, MN, and Chad Kramer of Dubuque, her 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, a sister Delores Hines, two sisters-in-law Barbara Douglas and Mary Douglas-Beck, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Karen, and five brothers, David, Jim, Gordon, Donald, and Eugene.

In lieu of flowers, a Donnabelle Kramer memorial fund has been established.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Stonehill and Hospice of Dubuque for all the wonderful care they gave to Donnabelle and the caring support they provided to the family the last few weeks of her journey.
