Dorrance Ray Gerhard

Dorrance Ray Gerhard, 60 of East Dubuque, IL passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Manor Care in Dubuque.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory 2595 Rockdale Road. Military honors by the Dubuque Marine Corps League will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Olivet Cemetery Chapel, burial will follow in the cemetery.

Dorrance was born on May 29, 1958 in Dubuque the son of Marvin and Geraldine (Cooper) Gerhard Sr. He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and served in the United States Marine Corps from August of 1976 until August of 1980. He worked for Vanguard Countertop & Cabinet Co, and later at O’Meara Custom Products.

He loved his family and friends, enjoyed reading, watching Jeopardy, the Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes and NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife Jodie (Stecklein) Gerhard; two sons Ben and Brandon; his mother Geraldine; and a brother Marvin (Deb) Gerhard, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister Deb Reed.

The family request no flowers, a Dorrance R. Gerhard memorial fund has been established.
