Janice L. Patters

It is with great sadness that the family of Janice Lee Patters announces her passing on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 in Dubuque at the age of 71 from natural causes.

A celebration of Jan’s life will be held on Sunday, May 20th, 2018 at the Eagles Club in Dubuque from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. 

Jan was born on September 12, 1946 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of Lee E. Hadley and Anna C. (Keller) Hadley.

Jan worked at the Westminster Head Start site for the past 2 school years, known to her Head Start family as Grandma Jan. She touched the hearts and assisted in the education of Head Start children through the United Way Foster Grandparent Program. She was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church, the Eagle’s Auxiliary of Dubuque, Iowa, where she served as past president; she belonged to the Salvation Army, and Volunteered at the Dubuque arboretum, and Crescent Community Health.

Jan will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

Jan is survived by her two sons Michael M. (Katrina) Patters and Gary M. (Vicky) Patters Jr.  both of Texas; four grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Siblings, John D. (Janet) Hadley, of Green Valley, AZ, sister Carolann (Terry) Wright, of Ocean Side California, and her twin sister Joyce M. Schoenberger, of Dubuque.

Jan is preceded in death by her parents.
