Joan A. Oberbroeckling, 77 of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on Thursday, August 3rd, 2017 at Unity Point Health, Finley Hospital surrounded by her family.
Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8th, 2017 at St. Joseph Church, Key West with Rev. Rodney Allers officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, August 7th, 2017 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where a wake service will be at 4:00 p.m.
Joan was born on April 4, 1940 in Fort Dodge, Iowa the daughter of Lawrence and Helen (Davis) Lundberg.
She married Ronald Oberbroeckling on May 12, 1962 in Ft. Dodge, Iowa.
She was a member of the Dubuque Fellowship club for 30 plus years.
Joan loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed going to the casino, was an amazing seamstress and was known for making her Moon Cakes for every occasion.
She is survived by her loving husband Ron of 55 years; two children, Richard “Dick” (Veronica “Ronnie”) Oberbroeckling and Terri (Tim) Lawler, of Dubuque; five grandchildren Jeremy, Carissa, Dallas, Becky, and Garret; great grandchildren Colten, Nate & Cayden; two sisters Eileen Segar, of Denver, CO and Mary Klein of Duncombe, Iowa; sister-in-law Judy (Jim) Glosser, of Centerville, Iowa, along with nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Jim Lundberg and a sister Margie Taylor.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Regan Wolbers and her nurse Laurie, all the nurses and staff at Unity Point Health, Finley Hospital and to all the health care professionals who cared for Joan.
