Joy L. Kaiser

Joy L. Kaiser, 42, of Peosta, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, August 1st, 2017 at home. 

According to Joy’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 4th, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Peosta Community Centre in Peosta, where a vigil service and time for sharing will take place at 4:45 p.m. 

Joy was born on May 20th, 1975 in Dubuque, Iowa the daughter of David Haberkorn and Peggy Klemme. She graduated from Wahlert High School and received her BA from Loras College in 1998. Joy married Keith Kaiser on May 18th, 2001 at Holy Trinity Church in Dubuque. 

She worked for Medical Associates Health Plans as an Account Executive for 17 years. She loved working with all her great clients. 

Joy was a board member of the Peosta Rec Centre; Red Coat for the Chamber of Commerce; was a Hospitality Minister and on the Rosary Society at St. John The Baptist in Peosta.

Joy enjoyed her “Tips” group, working with Special Spaces and working on many other worthwhile causes to help others. 

For the last six years Joy has fought a miraculous battle with breast cancer. Through this she always had a smile on her face and never missed any events, especially her girls events. The two mottos that Joy lived by was “It is what it is” and “put on your big girl panties”. She was an amazing woman, mother, daughter, sister, wife and friend to many people. She was an inspiration to many. 

She is survived by her husband Keith; their daughters Gabby (12) and Izzy (10); her mother and step-father Peg (Marty) Mancebo; her father Dave Haberkorn; Her sister Julie (Chris) Coleman and their children Jillian and Thomas. Her step sisters Lori (Leo) Costello and their children Aaron, Ashley, and Emily; Melanie (Greg) Morris, and their children, Jesse and Logan. Her father and mother-in-law Duane and Ann Kaiser; and her sister-in-law Julie Kaiser. 

 She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Kevin Kaiser; grandfather and grandmother-in-law Don and Bert Kaiser; stepmother Mary Alice Haberkorn; maternal grandmother Doris Klemme; and maternal grandfather Eldon Klemme. 

The family wishes to thank Dr. Christian Schultheis for being a great doctor and also a good friend; to the entire Oncology Department at Medical Associates as they became part of the Kaiser family; and to Hospice of Dubuque for all of the wonderful care and kindness. 

In lieu of flowers a Joy Kaiser memorial fund will be established.
