Kathy Ann (McNamer) Husemann

Kathy Ann “Kate” Husemann lost her battle with the DEVIL cancer at the age of 69, on October 3rd, 2017 at home surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 7th, 2017 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road where services will be held at 11:30 a.m.
Kate married Jim Husemann on July 30, 1966 and they enjoyed 51 years together. She leaves behind three children, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. Son, James Joseph “Jimmy Jo” (Kristina) Husemann, their three children, Jessica Lynn Runde and her son Ian, Tim Husemann, and Melissa Marie Husemann (Jon). Second son Christopher James Husemann (Leslie Horton), their children Eric and Lauren (DJ) and her children Kenzlee and David. Her Daughter Jenny Kay Miller and her son Wesley James. She is also survived by her Mom Virginia McNamer; sisters, Sandra Plumley, Patricia (Norm) Boelk, and Linda (Pat) Kelly; her brother Michael (Deana) McNamer. She also leaves many cousins and in laws on both sides of the family.
She was preceded in death by her father Robert (Linda) McNamer.
Kate enjoyed traveling America, winter getaways all around the South, camping, reading, cooking, canning and spending time with family. She had a beautiful singing voice and tried her hand at many activities over the years including archery, fishing, golf, square dancing, bicycling and for a time was the treasurer for the Dubuque
Regional Hosta Society. She was also an election official for Dubuque County. She was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church.
She asked for any memorials to be divided among the Dubuque Arboretum, Hospice of Dubuque and the Olivia Digman fund. Olivia is a miracle baby that Kate supported and still needs support due to crushing medical bills. Her generosity and concern for Olivia pretty well sums up her life.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of Dubuque for all their wonderful care.
