Lee Robert DeGroff, 81, of Peosta, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road with Rev. Linda Vonfumetti officiating. Family and friends may gather after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home until time of service. Burial will be at a later date in Northampton Memorial Cemetery in Pennsylvania.
Lee was born on October 27, 1935 in Pennsylvania the son of Percy and Lula (Wasser) DeGroff.
He married Elizabeth Round on August 17, 1957 at Wesley Methodist Church in New Jersey and they just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
He worked at Captive Plastics as a plant manager until his retirement October 27, 2000.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; three children, Lisa (Gregory) Zima, of Glendon, PA; David DeGroff, of Dubuque; Dara (Patrick) Fishnick, of Florida. Seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Donald DeGroff.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Dubuque Humane Society in memory of Lee Robert DeGroff.
The family wishes to thank all the Health Care Professionals who cared for Lee especially Mercy Medical Center and their Oncology Department.
