Leo Michael Oneyear

Leo M. “Mike” Oneyear, 66, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away suddenly on October 11, 2018 at Unity Point Health, Finley Hospital.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 16th, 2018 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road. Burial will follow in Dubuque Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 15th, 2018 at Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road.

Leo was born on September 7, 1952 in Dubuque, Iowa the son of Leo and Irene (Price) Oneyear. He married Patricia Jane Lewis on September 9, 1978. He served with the Iowa National Guard and worked for Standard Forwarding retiring in 2009.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, playing euchre, watching the Hawkeyes, Cleveland Indians and San Francisco 49ers.

He is survived by his children, Matthew (Kim) Oneyear, Lindsay (Adam) Heinen, Erin Oneyear; his significant other Deb Boyer. His grandchildren Owen, Leo (Mimi), Ben, Mason, Peyton, Madelyn, Cole, Evie and Zoe. “His best girl Liza”. His sister Gail Holder, Linda (Bob) Lochner; his brother Steve “Fuzzy” (Jane) Oneyear, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia and his parents Leo and Irene Oneyear.

A special thank you to Captain Dale Snyder from the Dubuque County Sheriff Office who was such a comfort to our family in this difficult time.
