Lila M Tigges

Lila M. Tigges, 83, of Dubuque, Iowa passed away on July 11th, 2018 at Bethany Home.

Funeral mass will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 14th, 2018 at St. Joseph Church, Key West with Rev. Rodney Allers officiating. Family and friends may gather after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church until time of mass. Entombment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, Dubuque, Iowa is in charge of arrangements.

Lila was born on April 16th, 1935 in Springbrook, Iowa the daughter of Joseph and Marlena (Kilburg) Arensdorf. She graduated from St. Joseph’s School in Bellevue, Iowa and married Robert V. Tigges in May 22, 1954 in Springbrook.

She worked at Sears Department store for 30 years and also for Dubuque Bank and Trust.

Lila was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved having her family over for dinner on Sunday’s nights. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren in sports especially playing basketball. She liked to travel, play golf and being a bus for her grandkids when needed.

She is survived by her three children, Steven (Jean) Tigges, Laurie (Marvin) Guy, and Michael (Holly) Tigges all of Dubuque. Six grandchildren, Christopher (Jenny) Tigges, Jeffrey (Jamie Unsen) Tigges, Stephanie (Brett Langkamp) Guy, Josh Guy, Jamie Tigges and Tia (Anthony) Boettner. Eight great grandchildren, Drew, Gwen, Nick, Riley, Nya, Kobe, Zach and Isaac. Siblings Norlan Arensdorf and Robert (Pat) Arensdorf.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Marlena Arensdorf; her husband Robert; sister-in-law Beverly Arensdorf.
