Loretta M. Koos

Loretta M. Koos, 103 of Dubuque, Iowa formerly of LaMotte, passed away on December 9th, 2018 at home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 12th, 2018 at St. Raphael Cathedral with Msgr. Thomas Toale officiating. Family and friends may gather after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church until time of mass. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Leonard Funeral Home & Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road is assisting the family.

Loretta was born on August 24, 1915 in La Motte, Iowa the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Sprank) Clasen. She graduated from Holy Rosary High School in 1934.

She married John “Jack” Koos on August 20, 1934 at Holy Rosary Church in La Motte. Together they farmed in the La Motte area until they retired in 1976. She was a member of St. Raphael Cathedral; she enjoyed playing cards and was an avid bowler until the age of 97.

Loretta is survived by her sons Donald (Ruth) Koos, of Dubuque, Richard (Lynn) Koos, of Peosta; granddaughter-in-law Jenny Koos; great grandsons Jayeden and Justin Koos along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband John “Jack” Koos; grandson Dale Koos; two sisters Marcella Thies and Viola Cox; and a brother Ray Clasen.
